BCREA’s Government Relations Role

BCREA strives to be the provincial voice for the real estate profession in the province. The Association takes an interest in provincial legislation, regulations and issues that impact the real estate profession, the purchase and sale of property and the quality of life in BC.

Staff from real estate associations, real estate boards and REALTORS® can learn more about BCREA’s Government Relations work on our Lobbying & Legislation REALTOR Link® Page.

The Quality of Life approach provides the framework for BCREA’s advocacy efforts. Quality of Life involves aligning BCREA’s goals with those of the government and the public, establishing alliances with other organizations and supporting its public policy positions and recommendations with solid research.

With each public policy position, BCREA seeks balance among the five principles that summarize the Quality of Life approach:

  • Ensuring economic vitality
  • Protecting property owners
  • Preserving the environment
  • Building better communities
  • Providing housing opportunities
