Building a successful real estate business – a business that can withstand the highs and lows of an ever-changing market and provide a solid income over the long-term – does not happen overnight. It takes time and effort. It also takes good planning and solid organizational skills, right from the start.

Have you considered what success means to you? Do you have a business plan? What reputation do you want to have? What is involved in managing your time, your brand, your business and your professional development?

With so much to consider it is often difficult to know where to begin. The daunting reality is that for some, they do not know what they do not know yet. Introduction to the Business of Real Estate is designed to supply REALTORS® with the tools to create a solid plan and focus their efforts as they continue to grow and learn in the industry.

Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  1. Identify the importance of business planning and setting realistic goals;
  2. List the benefits of building a community of practice;
  3. Define key elements of a good reputation and a recognizable brand; and
  4. Identify the importance of proper scheduling and time management.
