Risk Management: Protecting Yourself, Your Client and Your Business

6 PDP Credits – 3/4 day

Maybe you're just starting out in the business, and you know risks exist, but you're too busy learning the ropes to think about how to handle them. Or, perhaps you've been in the business a long time and have managed to avoid risky situations. Whatever stage of career you're in, it's important to be aware of risks, and to have an idea of how to manage them when they arise.

As a REALTOR®, you will always encounter personal and professional risks in your day-to-day business. Rather than avoiding risks out of fear or lack of knowledge, you will learn in this course to become proactive in order to identify the risks in the real estate profession. You will establish a course of action with a Risk Management Action Plan to minimize your risk.

By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • become more proactive in identifying risk in your everyday work activities;
  • anticipate, evaluate, manage, and apply preventative measures to risks associated with your professional and business routines;
  • clarify real estate resources available to you, including the Real Estate Errors & Omissions Insurance Indemnity Plan;
  • build a Risk Management Action Plan to guide you through the steps of mitigation; and
  • recognize how the Risk Management Action Plan can build a stronger branding statement for you as a REALTOR®, and for the services you provide to your clients.
