Risk Management: Protecting Yourself, Your Client and Your Business

6 PDP Credits – 3/4 day

Maybe you’re just starting out in the business and you know risks exist, but you’re too busy learning the ropes to think about how to handle them. Or, perhaps you’ve been in the business a long time and have managed to avoid risky situations. Whatever stage of career you’re in, it’s important to be aware of risks and to have an idea of how to manage them when they arise.

As a REALTOR®, you will always encounter personal and professional risks in your day-to-day business. Rather than avoiding risks out of fear or lack of knowledge, this course will teach you how to become proactive in order to identify risks in the real estate profession.

In this course, you will:

  • become more proactive in identifying business, compliance, client management, and property risks in your everyday work activities;
  • anticipate, evaluate, manage, and apply preventative measures to risks associated with your professional and business routines;
  • spot red flags and know when it is best to treat, transfer, terminate, or tolerate a risk you are facing;
  • build a Risk Management Action Plan to guide you through the steps of mitigation;
  • clarify coverage and exemptions under the Real Estate Errors & Omissions Insurance Indemnity Plan; and
  • discover many of the real estate resources available to you.
